Lantern love
Another leftover from my son’s first birthday party were the paper lanterns we hung up over the kitchen table, in between the paintings on the wall. I love the carnival colours and how they brighten up the plain white background, so I decided to leave them there. Talk about one of the cheapest ways to add colour and fun to a room – I got a pack of 12 from Partyrama.co.uk for £10.99! I’ve also been toying with the idea of replacing the string with some coloured ribbon or strings of beads. They always cheer me up whenever I walk into the kitchen.
I’m now considering adding lanterns elsewhere in my home, possibly starting with the bubba’s room. I’ve been scouring the internet for inpiration and am now liking the idea of using several lanterns in a bunch, either around a light fitting or as a feature in the room somewhere. I found some good ideas on the fab decor website Designshuffle.com, and there are sooo many gorgeous ideas for kids’ rooms at the lovely Jojosroom.blogspot.co.uk and also Unique-baby-gear-ideas.com (hope you’ve got a few spare hours, these sites are addictive).
