One shirt, four ways

I’m currently in Brittany – en vacation avec Famille, or something more accurately French. Now I realise I ought to just put an ‘On holiday, back in a week’ sign up on the blog, or direct you to an out of office or something, but I don’t like to let my readers down. So I thought I’d still pass a few posts your way, starting with one of my holiday must-pack items: a lightweight shirt.

There are so many ways you can wear a lightweight shirt that it’s the perfect summer staple, and takes up zero room in a suitcase now fighting for space with emergency nappies or spare toys. It also takes minutes to dry on a hot balcony when your little one has spilled Ribena on it seconds after you’ve put it on. Here are the ways I like to wear mine:

Summer staple: the lightweight shirt

Sling over a dress as a lightweight jacket or bingo-wing disguise

Knot over a shorts-and-top combo for sightseeing

Wear buttoned up and tucked into some statement trousers for date night

Wear loosely over your bikini as a cover-up alternative to an oversized Tshirt on the beach
