Summer knits
Let’s face it. This British summer has been anything but summery so far (give or take the odd day-long heat wave). Which is why it makes sense to think about layering, especially when those clouds crop up over your picnic on the common, the stars begin to twinkle over your open-air theatre, or the pub beer garden gets a bit nippy as you’re glugging down that spritzer before home for bath, story and bedtime. And if you’re lucky enough to be travelling further afield for your jollies, don’t forget that chilly sea breeze in the evenings. So, while it’s still too muggy for a jacket, what you need is a summer knit. Think open-stitch, honeycomb textures, lightweight and summery colours. Here’s my Super Six:
Top row, left to right: Pink open-stitch, £20, Awear.com; Stripe, £28, Dorothy Perkins; Pale ombre, £28, Dorothy Perkins
Bottom row, left to right: Rainbow, £39.99, Wear What U Love at New Look; Metallic, £16.75, Forever 21; Orange honeycomb, £10, Fashion Union
